Best Dressed Guest....

Here is a pic of my friend's 10-month-old son wearing the bow-tie onesie I made him when he was born. I big thank you to his mama for actually having him wear it- means so much! He wore this to a wedding recently. Too cute!! I bet he stole all the thunder from the bride and groom!

$20 Coffee Table

Yup, only $20! I love picking up things from the side of the road and my husband did an amazing job refinishing this coffee table! We bought stain remover and new stain for a total of $20 and used sandpaper we already had at the house. It is a HUGE upgrade from the previous table we had in the living room- another side of the road pick up but with weird peacock fern tiles on top. Yup, we enjoyed that for over a year it was time for a change!

One man's junk is my treasure!

I can't take credit for this project, but I can take credit for finding the project! I saw this beauty on my way to work one morning and was mad at myself for not stopping! Well when I went by again the next day and it was still out front of a house I knew it was meant to be. I pulled over and shoved the thing in my car! My husband then stripped it, sanded it, and stained it. I need to take after pic because I still can't believe what a great job he did! We have never done a refinishing project, but now I think he is hooked! And good thing because I grabbed an old desk a while back that is sitting in the basement and just waiting for a good facelift!

Tipsy Pot!

Just a quick post on a couple outdoor projects. Last year my mom and I made tipsy pots. I think we made mine a little too late in the season and most of the flowers died quickly. This year I was set on making sure I got an early start so here it is.

I also added some flowers to a couple pots for the front steps. My mom made me three last year and they were just so beautiful with all these overflowing flowers and they bloomed well into the fall. The ones I made do not even compare to hers. She also added these solar lights and I put them back in this year. Please ignore the steps- we are getting them redone this summer!

Another Tote

And here is a pic of the one I made for my mother-in-law. I have fabric to make one for my sister and I am going to make the straps longer than the other ones I made.

Mother's Day Gift

The next two posts are not as far behind as the last two! I made my mother and mother-in-law a bag for Mother’s Day. My oldest friend is also a fan of sewing and she was gracious enough to share the great pattern she had. It was very easy and functional! It’s a large canvas bag with pockets out the outside. I also got to use my serger for the first time and I am in love! Here is a pic of the bag for my mom.

Easy-No-Sew Blanket

Here is another project for a 1 yr old little boy. The same one that received the khaki zebra print quilt over a year ago! Time flies! This was a very easy project! I took two yards of two different fleeces. Lay them evenly on top of each other bad sides touching (you may need to cut both so they perfectly fit together.) All you do it cut out a four inch square out of each corner. Then you cut one-inch wide, 4-inch deep strips on all four sides. Then all you do is tie the two pieces together into a double knot strip by strip. Super easy and a great gift for anyone! I made my husband one with Giants fleece for Christmas and we use it all the time.

Homerun Quilt

Life has a tendency to throw some serious curveballs that make you question so many things. I have been busy with some serious curveballs and my projects have taken a backseat.

I wanted to update a few things that I finished a while ago. First is a quilt for a baby boy. His dad is a HUGE baseball fan and former players so it was only fitting to have a baseball print quilt for the little man. He was born last month and her shower was in March so this post is very behind.

Baby Shower Gift

Here is a pic of my baby shower gifts for my girlfriend last weekend. She has a 20 month old son so we got him the book "Big Brother" which I wrapped up for him to open. The rest is a pic of the quilt, diaper pouch, and burp cloths I made.

And MOOOOORE Baby Gifts

Lots of babies on the way! Another great friend and college roommate is due with a little boy in May. I need to get going on her quilt. I bought a great baseball print fabric recently, but am still deciding on what pattern to use.
In the meantime, I made her a nursing cover from a tutorial I saw on Diary of a Quilter.
