In all honesty, what do you get a grandmother for her birthday? They really don't want anything and she doesnt need another trinket that says "Best Grandma" or anything along that line. So for my grandmother's birthday last year I made her a quilt! It was just a lap quilt and was only the second one I have ever made (I will spare you from looking at the first one). I just used the log cabin and a mix of black and white pattern fabric- obviously. She says she uses it every day..... as a chair pad when she reads the paper during breakfast!
